FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are chaps used for?
Chaps are protective garments worn over pants, often used in outdoor activities. They provide extra protection against scratches and injuries from brush, thorns, or animal bites. Riders often use chaps while horseback riding to safeguard their legs from the elements. Additionally, leather chaps offer warmth and wind resistance. Whether you're working on a ranch or enjoying a trail ride, chaps can keep you comfortable and safe. They are a popular choice for adventurers and those who spend time outdoors.
How do I choose the right size of chaps?
Choosing the right size of chaps is important for comfort and protection. First, measure the widest part of your thigh and the inseam length, from the crotch to the ankle. Use these measurements to check size charts from the brand you are considering. Make sure to try on the chaps if possible. They should fit snugly but not too tight. You want to allow for easy movement. Keep in mind that different materials may fit differently, so be open to trying a few options.
Are chaps easy to clean and maintain?
Yes, cleaning and maintaining chaps is relatively simple, but the method depends on the material. For leather chaps, use a damp cloth to wipe off dirt. You may also want to apply a leather conditioner periodically to keep them supple and looking great. For fabric chaps, check the label for specific cleaning instructions. Machine-washable options usually work well in cold water on a gentle cycle. Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your chaps and keeps them looking their best over time.
What are the best materials for chaps?
Chaps are commonly made from leather, fabric, or synthetic materials. Leather is durable and offers excellent protection against the elements. It also provides warmth. Fabric chaps may be lighter and more breathable, making them ideal for warmer weather. Synthetic options often combine durability with easy cleaning. When choosing a material, consider the activities you’ll be doing. Heavy-duty tasks may call for leather, while lighter, casual outings could be fine with fabric or synthetic. Each material has its benefits depending on your needs.
Can I wear chaps without additional clothing underneath?
Usually, chaps are worn over pants or jeans for added protection. Wearing something underneath helps keep you comfortable and dry. However, some lightweight chaps are made to be worn without extra clothing. These are often used in hot weather or specific styles of riding. If you decide to wear chaps without anything underneath, ensure they fit correctly. The main concern is comfort and freedom of movement. It’s always smart to choose based on your comfort level and the use case. Enjoy your adventures safely!

My 1st set of motorcycle boots and a great choice! Very comfortable after a little break in . Just wish these were vented because feet can get sweaty quick and it's not even summer yet. Overall super eazy to zip up and take off. Good look to them too. I can wear them and look pretty normal.

Fitment: I am 5'9" 150lbs. so thin for my height. I ordered a size 48. The jacket fits me perfectly. With the bionic race back protector and chest protectors, it fits like a second skin. The shoulder pads were a bit tight at first but it has since broken in. I'm guessing the lining stretched out a bit. The waist on the pants are perfect. However, the pant length is a little shorter than I'd like. With the knee pads in the correct positions, the waist is pulled down. It feels as if the upper thigh section is too short for my height. When I zip the pants to the jacket, it pulls the zipper section down. I'm glad I got the 2 piece suit as this would probably have been a problem with the 1 piece suit. I would have liked to order the pants in one size up, but the width of the legs and waist would have been too large. Other than the pants length, Iove this suit. I wear it every time i ride, even to work. I figure if I have to change my pants for work anyway, I mind as well wear the full suit since it doesn't take long to change out of. Everything seems to be of excellent quality except for the leather pull tab on the main jacket zipper. It tore off the first time I pulled on it. no big deal as there is still the normal metal pull and it is covered by the velcro flap. There seems to be enough air flow for now, but I'm not sure how cool I'll be in the summer. I do wear compression top and bottoms which helps when putting on and taking off the suit. It also helps to regulate body temperature. Time will tell how well it does in the summer. I wear this suit with boots and the legs tuck in nicely without pinching or bunching up.

I am 5'0 34-28-34 I ended up choosing to buy the size 40 even though the size chart recommended one size larger (42). I opted this because I am pretty short. I would say though, that the suit probably fits true to the size chart. The suit just fit for my upper body. I expect it to bend and stretch with more use. The only thing was the legs were long, but the stretch material over the knee pad/puck allowed for some room to squish. The ankles had a bit of extra leather for my small ankles, so my boot was a tight once I put it over. Overall it's a good fit, and I'm happy with it, as all the pads fit snug and at the right points!
